Dr. Pastor Emeritus Anthony F. Lloyd


I am the Director of Ministry of H.O.P.E.

( Helping Our Precious Elders ),under the outstanding leadership of Dr. Rita Elaine Stuckey-Lloyd. This residential program is uniquely positioned  to offer viable services to the Senior Population in the church/community context.  For over forty years I have achieved academic and professional skills in working with clergy and laity to provide “ A Pragmatic Modularity “ of CARE for the Seniors and their Families. 


The Area of Education:


Pepperdine University, Los Angeles, California: Bachelor  of Arts in Religion, 1971.


American Baptist Seminary of the West,

Berkeley, California: Master of Divinity Degree in Theology and Psychology, 1974.

Graduated FIRST in His CLASS!


Claremont School of Theology, Claremont, California: DOCTORATE ( D.Min ) in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling and Church History, 1985.

The Dissertation: “ The Urban Black Church’s Role in Community Mental Health Care. “


** Dr. Lloyd has been “ A Certified Pastoral Addictions Counselor “ for over twenty five years. The Certification organization is the National Association of Forensic Counselors.

NAFC No. 17492.


The Area of Professional Positions:


Dr. Lloyd has deep roots in the Bay Area since the 1970s, where he was the “ Youth Minister “ of Allen Temple Baptist Church, Oakland, California.  Through the years he has maintained a “ Close Relationship “ with the Leadership of Allen Temple and several pastors and ministers in the Bay Area.


Dr. Lloyd served as “ Senior Pastor “ of the Beulahland Baptist Church, Gardena, California, from 1990 to 2019.  He was “ the Chief Administrator “ in implementing viable ministries in enhancing the social, spiritual, economic and mental health well being of church and community.  Upon his retirement on October 2019, the Church Membership honored him with the esteemed Title: “ PASTOR EMERITUS. “


Dr. Lloyd also retired on June 30, 2020 from

Mount San Antonio College, Walnut, California, as Adjunct Professor of PHILOSOPHY.  He was an esteemed Faculty member form 1988 to 2020; upon his retirement, the Philosophy Department published a book entitled, “ The Wise Thinker in Honor of Professor Anthony Lloyd” as a Gift to him.
